A meteor is going to hit the moon. Everyone is celebrating and having a party, like its no big deal. But then things really begin to change. The moon comes closer in orbit to the earth. Everything goes haywire. There are tsunamis, volcanoes, earthquakes, and storms! There are mosquitoes, bugs and illness. The main character Miranda lives with her family and keeps a diary about all of the changes happening in the world and all her feelings about all thats going on.
I loved this book! I couldn’t put it down. What was so cool about this book was that everytime i put it down it took me a couple seconds to realize that I wasn’t in the book. I could really feel all the things the characters went through and all the changes that were happening. It made me feel so thankful for what I have!

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to meet several of my favorite authors at The Library of Congress’ National Book Festival. The highlight was meeting Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black, authors of The Spiderwick Chronicles, Judy Blume and of course Elmo.

Here is my interview with Cleo from the PBS Kids program Between the Lions:

I’d Tell You I Love You , But Then I’d Have to Kill You is the first in the Gallagher girl series. Gallagher Academy for Exceptional Young Women is a pretty normal school-if what you call normal is that these girls are taught advanced martial arts, 14 and more different languages, skills of a pavement artist, knowing how to kill a man 7 different ways their bare hand, extremely advanced in math and science, getting extra credit for breaking in to CIA codes in computer class and much more.
It was fun to experience being a spy through the characters. The problems the girls faced were so different from what most people go through but they were still just pre-teens going through the everyday issues we all go through. They were learning about their feelings towards friends and how to act with boys. Even though the girls were so different from me I could relate to these typical pre-teen issues.
p.s. I recently had the opportunity to meet Ally Carter, author of the Gallagher Girl book series. She is really sweet and so nice in person. Here is a photo of the two of us.
